Best Practice and Individual Results

Fertility treatment, as everyone knows, is not predictable. We view the health and well-being of each patient and each child as our key indicators of success - as important to us as the overall percentage rates which cannot, and do not, on their own, tell the whole story.

At Bridge we treat every patient for whom treatment is a viable option, regardless of the degree of difficulty. Some centres do not because they are more interested in their percentage results. We will advise you, professionally and honestly, of your chances of success and the decision is then yours. We will never refuse to treat anyone just because the chances of success are low. You can be certain of one thing - whatever your chances, we are dedicated to your success and will do everything we can to make it happen.

We have assembled one of the strongest teams in the world - with two leading fertility practitioners, Mr Mohamed Menabawey, and Dr Alan Thornhill leading the clinical and embryology teams respectively. The professors are supported by a growing team of specialists who bring special expertise in a wide variety of fertility-related areas.

"Best Practice" gives us clear policies on every aspect of treatment, especially on the number of embryos returned. While we treat each case on its individual merits, we believe that two is the right number in most cases and that three can introduce additional risk. HFEA regulations require us to return two embryos in the majority of cases but we are able to return three embryos in special circumstances when a patient's interests are better served by this.

There is today, a growing body of evidence to indicate that, in appropriate cases, the return of one embryo can be more successful and treatment protocols based on single embryo return with the posibility of subsequent frozen embryo transfers are now available at Bridge.

This approach virtually eliminates the risk of multiple pregnancies and, if you would like to discuss this option, we will be able to determine its suitability in your particular case and proceed accordingly.
