Day Care at Bridge

The Day Care Unit

Bridge was founded in 1986 as a private infertility investigation and treatment centre. Since then it has developed considerably and now offers a comprehensive range of gynaecological services, as well as the most up-to-date fertility treatments. The establishment of the Day Care Unit has been a significant part of our development programme.

A calm and relaxed environment

Situated on the lower ground floor at Bridge, the Day Care Unit provides all the necessary facilities and equipment required to carry out a range of specialised surgical and investigative procedures on a day case basis.

Self-contained and purpose built, the unit includes a fully-equipped operating theatre, an anaesthetic room and full 'step-down' recovery facilities including four patient recovery bays. The facility is supported by a team of senior multi-skilled operating theatre staff, including theatre nurses and consultant anaesthetists. The recovery area has been designed to provide maximum comfort for patients and to create a calm and relaxed environment, helping to reduce the stress often experienced by patients undergoing even minor operative procedures.

The day-to-day running of the unit is overseen by the Theatre Manager who is responsible for ensuring adherence to, and maintenance of, strict clinical protocols and compliance with health and safety requirements.
