Investigations

Investigations and diagnosis is a vital part of infertility treatment and we use a range of advanced diagnostic tests to determine the optimum treatment strategies for both female and male infertility.

In female infertility, we investigate the levels of hormones known to play a part in fertility. Our range of diagnostic tests includes an ovarian assessment.

The ovarian assessment combines all the hormonal tests that have long been part of the investigation of fertility – Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Oestradiol. In addition, it brings in a further parameter – the Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) and our developing knowledge that, the closer to the egg, the more accurate and useful the message from the hormones.

A complete range of physical investigations is also carried out, as necessary – for more details go to Female Investigations.

For male infertility we provide a comprehensive programme which has been developed with one single purpose in mind – to ensure that as many male patients as possible are able to father their own children.

This include all the standard sperm tests (Male Investigations) and, to get a complete picture of male reproductive health, Sperm DNA Fragmentation – a unique test that evaluates sperm health issues that are not detectable by standard semen analysis
