Check your BMI
BMI stands for BodyMass Index - a formula which enables you to determine weather your weight is healthy for you. All you need to know is your weight and your height.
The BMI Ranges
BMI is only a general guide, hence the ranges shown below.
It is important to remember that there are very many different body types and muscle and bone mass is distributed differently - so this is not an absolute or final diagnosis but, even so, the higher your BMI, especially over 30, the higher the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes - so be careful.
If you are facing fertility issues then high BMI is a disadvantage and you will almost certainly improve your chance of successful treatment by losing weight. Equally, a very low BMI (under 18.5) can be a disadvantage.
